ABOUT US
Giggles and Grins Little Scholars, formerly known as Giggles and Grins Learning Academy, was established in 2017 as a Licensed Home Center serving up to 12 children. Ms. Davidson quickly learned that parents would wait a year or more for availability in order for their child to attend G&G. She then stepped out on faith and opened a licensed childcare facility that would be able to accommodate more families.
In 2020, the center began facing the same issue of having a waiting list that had no movement. The expansion of Giggles and Grins Little Scholars is now able to service our community in greater ways. Our new facility gives our students more space in the classrooms where we are able to incorporate innovation stations and more learning centers. This facility is 3500 square feet and serves up to 80 children with a side by side social hall for events or parents night out.

We are committed to providing safety and security for all children. Giggles & Grins Little Scholars Center encourages learning through playing in an environment designed so that children may grow. MEET THE OWNER
Rochanda Davidson began working in childcare as an Americorp employee in 1994 where she realized she had a great passion for working with children. She soon began working in the classroom and was promoted to Director Assistant.
After 20+ years of training and experience, she desired to open her own childcare center so she decided to obtain a Child Care Administrator Certificate in 2018.
Ms. Davidson is proud to be able to serve her community and its families. She strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for their precious jewels. She firmly believes in fostering strong, positive relationships with each daycare family that will last forever.
Rochanda is the mother of two young men, one daughter and the proud grandmother of three who are true believers of God.
Ms. Davidson prides her success by standing on two of her favorite scriptures: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” and 2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
MEET THE STAFF
Our teachers and staff are always eager to love on, teach and care for every child and family that walks in G&G. All employees are cleared by a statewide criminal history check and FBI fingerprinting. All teachers are certified in CPR/First Aid and attend monthly training with the daycare director and experts in early childhood. Our staff attends yearly training led by the Houston Association of Education of Young Children and other leading early education agencies. In addition to training, G&G lead teachers possess a Child Development Associate Certificate or a degree in a related field.

Erica began her journey in the childcare world in August 2016. She began working with toddlers and quickly found a great passion working with little ones. Erica has shown proof that she can grab the attention of all ages and is a fabulous mother of three kids. She is currently thriving in her new position as the Administrative Assistant.

Monique began working in a local childcare center in 2006, where she worked with children of all ages. She has a special love for children and is very attentive to their needs and wants. Monique ventured off after many years of working with children and went into the medical field in administration. She is now is the proud parent of 5 kids and 9 grandkids.
At G&G she will be the smiling and warm face that will greet you and help assist your family with any needs or concerns as the Admissions Coordinator.

OUR SAFETY & SECURITY
A nurturing environment is one that gives children the security and opportunity to discover themselves and their world. Assuring that all children experience safe, stable and nurturing environments is an important goal.
Giggles and Grins Little Scholars take great pride in providing a nurturing and welcoming learning environment where our children feel safe. Every family that is enrolled with Little Scholars is automatically part of our family and we always try to do our best to take care of all our family members.
Your child’s safety and security is a top priority at Giggles and Grins Little Scholars. We have consulted with experts to create a safe and secure learning environment for all of the children in our care. The doors to our facility remain locked throughout the day. Children must be signed in and out upon arrival and departure. Children may be released only to those persons authorized in writing by the parent/guardian. Identification will be required when someone other than the parent or guardian will be picking up your child.
In addition, the following measures are taken:
○ Strict background checks on all staff
○ Infant, child and adult CPR and First Aid trained staff
○ We follow CDC safety & cleaning protocols for Covid-19
○ Closed-circuit cameras are continuously monitored by Administrator
○ Tempered glass windows have been installed for situational awareness in all classrooms.
○ Emergency Evacuation Plan and safety protocols in place in event of inclement weather, danger or safety issues.
